Loved working with The Leftovers Collective.
Their work is like nothing I have ever seen/ experienced in Sydney.
They’re definitely pushing boundaries and inviting the audience to question modern society.
I love how the audience can choose to interact with the art it they wish. It really adds another layer to performance art and the audience members seem to really enjoy the interactive aspects and becoming part of the work themselves.

Great show. Great concept - really well done. The premise about swearing was very very engaging - we spent a lot more time here than we thought we would exploring the different elements. The Leftovers artists were brilliant. We loved the Dunce! My teenage son really got into it - good to find an installation that spoke so directly to him and questions that resonate with him.

It was an absolute honour and pleasure to make accessible and thought provoking art with The Leftover Collective. This was my first durational, performance art piece and definitely not my last. I found I entered a deep meditational headspace in this exhibition, I was lost in the many manifestations of one idea and found myself looking at societal structures differently after. I can only hope that people were challenged to question their own beliefs and behaviours and why they hold them.

Art is the presence of meaning not the absence of it. It's the fullness of the work in front us that makes it great not what it isn't, or at least that's the way I receive it. However I too often find performance art or performance art based work doesn't move me. Not to say it can't or doesn't ever, I just too often find it's form doesn't contain the inside life I expect or want - a well crafted image or concept that looks interesting, but feels empty and leaves me with little.

This was not the case with Don't Go To This Show. It's setup was slick, beautiful, welcoming, well shaped and concise and had the fullness of meaning and presence I love to see in art, especially performance art based work. All of the performers were excellent and I can't wait to see what this company does next.

In most other art pieces, it is clear where the art lies. It's kept within the frame of the painting, the bounds of a stages arch or the screen of a video. However what's most exciting about The Leftovers Collectives art is how you never know where and how the art will unfold. In a single performance the Leftovers can create a multitude of different inceptions of art that can conform and defy expectations of what art is. It leads to an immersive experience that everyone can take something meaningful from. I found this particularly relevant in "Don't Go to this Show" as art laid in the unexpected audience performer interactions, the conversations that the show created and also in the immediate performances and videos at the show. There is nothing quite like The Leftovers Collective in Sydney, their work creates culture and conversation for everyone through it's multidisciplinary art forms and accessibility.

Wanted to say DON'T GO TO THIS SHOW was terrible and I would not recommend such an interesting and innovative show to anyone!

Such a cool experience! I didn’t know what to expect but it was so detailed and every piece had this way of drawing you in. The detail and commitment of the performers and artists was awesome.

Are a circle of self lead, self initiating artists who are breathlessly consumed with human perception. We conduct intimate social experiments utilising audience intuition. There is a core group of anarchy artists. Each new work individually curates additional artists.
